Congratulation to Former PIPA guest Nana Tuffour Okai aka Bboy Lyricx who won three Prestigious Awards at Ghana Dance Industry Awards 2026

Nana Tuffour Okai aka. Bboy Lyricx walked away from the Ghana Dance Industry’s Biggest Night 2026 19th April clutching three golden trophies

The Dance Merit Award for Dance for Development in Africa  – Bboy Lyricx

Recognises artists who use the art form as a vehicle for social change and youth empowerment. Bboy Lyricx has long understood that breaking is bigger than battle floors — it is education, identity, and community. This award is a testament to the programmes, outreach, and mentorship that he has championed across the continent.

Dance Ambassador of the year — Bboy Lyricx

Being named Dance Ambassador of the Year is perhaps the most personal of the three honours. It speaks to how Bboy Lyricx represents not just himself, but an entire generation of African breakers who are demanding their seat at the global table. From local cyphers to international competitions, he has consistently carried the African breaking flag with pride, skill, and integrity.

Roots of the Culture — Bboy Lyricx and Africa Breaking Academy

The third award, Roots of the Culture — Africa Breaking Academy, adds an institutional layer to Lyricx’s documented story . It signals that the work is not just individual — it is structural. By building and leading a breaking academy, he is investing in the next wave of African bboys and bgirls, ensuring the culture is passed down with authenticity and excellence. “Three trophies. One vision. A continent watching.”

What this means for African breaking having made its Olympic debut and the global spotlight firmly on the art form, moments like this matter more than ever.

Congratulations, Bboy Lyricx and Ghana Breaking Federation.
